The Oneplus Wireless Bullets are Oneplus first attempt at wireless headphones, I reviewed it about 6 months ago and I've been using it almost every day since then. The price stayed the same and is relatively cheap as MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) coming at 69$. BUT the market has responded since then with a slew of wireless options with the same price point.

There were a few things I've learned and got a few insights:

  • They really don't isolate from the outside world - If you buy them for the subway or flights, they do not let you block out the rumble noises and you can't really enjoy the music. I tried to find foam eartips as they do help with that, but none fit the Wireless bullets...

  • Stuttering on the subway - On crowded locations the wireless connection might break, but don't worry - it's not that often, and it usually happens when the battery is low - below 30%.

  • Battery life - 6 months in and the battery life is about 6.5 hours which is less than what advertised (8 hours), but still not too bad.

  • Comfort - They are more comfortable than when I started using them, maybe the fins got softer in time or I got used to it, but things are feeling better.

  • Turn-on within my backpack - putting them in my backpack without any special compartment results in unwanted turn on of the earbuds, as the ON/OFF mechanism is the magnets which clamps them together. The magnets aren't strong enough to withstand backpack movement without detaching.

  • No bass - The sound quality is really good for the price, but the bass is really lacking... other than that - all thumbs up!

  • Charging speed - charging speed is awesome, even with other more recent wireless earbuds - none are as good as plugging for 25 minutes for a full charge.

Bottom Line

Would I buy them again? Probably yes, but there are other options out there, might be a bit more expensive but do a bit more - like active noise cancelling, more battery life, better bass etc.

But I might wait for Oneplus next generation as it suppose to launch very soon according to leaks.
