For our low tech section, I wanted to do an honorable mention – The Loot Crate.
This article is by no means sponsored by Loot Crate.
Some of us grownups still have that inner child. That kind of child who likes presents... And if you’re reading articles on my blog, that means you are or were that somewhat geeky child, and that’s AWESOME!
So how can you spoil yourself as an adult geek? Well, that’s when Loot Crate comes in!
They have a subscription for a monthly delivery of a box, filled with geeky stuff. They have a monthly theme and the items aren’t published until they deliver the boxes to the customers – so it’s very much a surprise opening them up.
Loot Crate has several different crate categories, among them: the classic loot crate, DX, Anime, Pets, Gaming and more! There’s something for everyone.
Each classic crate has a T-shirt, some kind of tiny figure… and much more!
Every month feels like a little birthday celebration! That is super cool.
The price is very reasonable for what you get, and it depends on how long you choose the subscription, the longer the subscription the lower the monthly price.
I guess I got carried away a bit – not all is pitchy. There are some themes at different months which will not be your cup of tea, some genre you’ll not like or so on – luckily you can skip that month by just logging into the site and press “Skip this month Loot Crate”.
Also, some of the items feel kind of cheap or don’t always align with what you might preserve as “SUPER COOL”, but that’s rarely the case.
I suggest you head out to the site and checkout the different subscriptions, try a month or two and see how it goes! For me, I didn’t regret a single Loot Crate.
