With E3 2017 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) just around the corner - June 13-15 - with new games and new consoles, I wanted to revisit a very important subject.

Since the dawn of (gaming) time a battle has took place between the 2 gaming options: PC vs. Console.

The 2 genre of gaming platforms differs from each other by some aspects, and I'll try to cover the most important ones with a simple table.

A WORD OF ADVICE: when you choose a specific console, it is preferable you'll choose it for the long run, as some console are backwards compatible and you can keep playing your old games even after buying the newer generation

Bottom line: Not every platform was born equal -

  • The console platforms are a cheap way to enter the gaming world, but the games will cost a lot over time as you buy more and more.

  • Future proof PC will be expensive but versatility of your build is huge, and it can do other things beside gaming.

I was a PC "Master Race" advocate for many many years, and for the past 4 years I've been playing mainly on the Xbox One console - why? well, it's built better as a living room entertainment system, I love the controller, it is great when friends come over for 2 or more local co-op gaming and it's quite small and inconspicuous. Yes, I do miss on games coming out to the PC or Playstation, but they are few and far between.

All in all, whatever you may choose - all that matters is having a great time gaming!
